Internships
College faculty and students in related fields are encouraged to contact B&S Sport Science to establish an internship relationship. Students will be mentored and evaluated by trained and experienced professionals within the program and business areas. Specifically, students will gain knowledge and practical hands on experience in the following areas: developing, administering and evaluating group and individual exercise programs, scheduling, marketing, and budgeting.
Internship opportunities are year round with most of the demand being in the summer (summer break) working with youth, high school and college athletes in small groups and conditioning camps. You will also have the opportunity to work with post rehabilitation patients as well as a wide array of non-traditional athletes.
Rubrics will be provided as part of the student’s evaluations to indicate strengths and weaknesses.
Internships include a stipend which will be determined by level of experience, weekly work hours, and bi-weekly reviews. Interns with an extensive background and/or certification may receive additional financial compensation for their time at the B&S Sport Science Facility.
